After the two world leaders met in Washington DC, today US President Trump has accepted Narendra Modi’s invite to visit India. According to India’s Foreign Secretary Mr. Jaishankar, “Yes, Donald Trump has accepted Modi’s invitation to visit India”.  Mr. S Jai Shankar accompanied Modi to the USA. He added that apart from that he has no additional details. Earlier, while delivering a joint statement at the White House, Narendra Modi, standing alongside Trump, said, “I want to invite you to India, along with your family. And I hope that you will give me the opportunity to welcome you and host you in our country”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was welcomed by the First Lady Melania and President Trump at the White House in Washington DC. After that, the 2 leaders had delegation level talks and later they held a joint press meets. Pm Narendra Modi and Trump spoke on fighting terrorism and improving business ties after their first meeting, which was marked by warmth and bonhomie between the 2 leaders.

Pointing out India, Trump said, from White House, “It’s a great honor to welcome the leader of the world’s largest democracy.  I had always a deep admiration for India and Indian people, their rich culture and traditions. The country has the fastest growing economy, and we hope to catch up soon. After our meetings, I would like to say, the relationship between India and the USA have never been stronger, never been better. From now we will destroy radical Islamic terror jointly”.

He also added that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited me and my family to visit India. Modi also invited especially my daughter to lead US delegation to the global entrepreneurship in their country, India, and she has accepted. I am proud to announce that it to American people and to Indian people that Narendra Modi and I are world leaders in social media”.

During the joint statement of two leaders, Donald Trump repeatedly thanked PM Modi for visiting the USA and the White House, saying he enjoyed their “very efficient and productive conversation”.

He added that “During my campaign before the election, I pledged that if elected, India will have a true friend in the White House.  And now it is exactly what they have and we have – a true friend”.

Donald Trump also lauded Modi’s efforts for launching the GST describing it as the “largest tax overhaul in the history of India”. Prime Minister Modi appreciated their “warm welcome” according to him by Donald Trump and First Lady Melani. He said, “We consider the USA as our primary partner for India’s economic and social transformation in all our programs, policies and schemes.”

President Trump said, “Our today’s talks have been extremely important because they were based on mutual trust. The future for partnership between two countries never looked better; India and the USA will always be tied together in friendship”.
