The first round of elections in Uttar Pradesh was completed smoothly. About 60 percent of the votes were cast in 56 constituencies in 11 districts. The Samajwadi Party has alleged that there were errors in the EVM and booth jam. RLD chief Jayant Chowdhury could not cast his vote as he could not reach Mathura on time. The BJP is optimistic about good results in western Uttar Pradesh.

With the exception of a few scattered noises, the first round of elections in Uttar Pradesh ended smoothly. At the end of the day, the turnout was 80.18 percent. Which is about three percent less than last time. With the exception of the Jat-dominated Kairana and Shamli, the BJP leadership is relieved that the turnout is lower than last time in most areas.

According to BJP Union Minister Anurag Tagore, the party is on the verge of regaining 300 seats in the way people are voting today in support of Yogi and Modiji. On the other hand, according to Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, people’s anger against the BJP has become clear from the way they have taken to the streets. The decline of the BJP has started in Uttar Pradesh.

The second phase of elections will be held in Uttar Pradesh next Monday. In the second phase, voting is going to be held in 55 seats of 9 districts.
