In an event that was taken to be unusual as Trump’s rhetoric is always tough and sometimes insulting, the president administered a calm and soft speech. He requested for bipartisan cooperation especially within Congress then further called for the nation’s unity.
In his speech that night, Trump called for all politicians to put aside their differences, seek a common ground and summon unity essential for service delivery in their constituencies. He then went on to remind the politicians and invitees of how the country would come together in times of crisis.
Following recent events, it is evident that the president’s calls have gone down the drain. The meddling in the ongoing investigations into Russia’s interference in American elections and the distractions from supposed controversies alleged in both Republican and Democrat memos justifies that Donald Trump is far from his expected plans. The outcome is the president’s 2018 agenda stalling forcing Trump to blame the Democrats.
Trump Accuses Democrats
The recent cascading activities and increasing divisions between the Democrats and the Republicans have led Trump to weigh down on the Democratic political leaders, insulting and punishing them for failing to go along with his plans. The United States president accused Democrats of being “un-American” and “treasonous” for failing to praise his State of Union address last week. The government’s spending bill is coming up yet again and the rift between the two parties suggests that the bill may not be passed, with another government shutdown in the offing.
