The government has blocked 20 anti-India YouTube channels and two websites. The channels and websites have been accused of deliberately spreading fake anti-India news. According to the Union Government’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the information broadcast on those websites and YouTube channels is dangerous to the security of the country and is factually forgotten.
The website and YouTube channel have been stopped due to the promotion of anti-India activities and deliberately broadcasting anti-India and fake news. Sources said that misinformation about the Indian Army, Ram Mandir, the minority community, and the recently late CDS Bipin Rawat was being shared in the form of news from those YouTube channels and websites.
According to the ministry, several use channels under the Pakistan-based New Pakistan Group (NPG), which has a total audience of over 3.5 million, have been continuously spreading anti-India fake news. Sources in the ministry also claimed that several YouTube channels of the New Pakistan Group were controlled by some presenters of Pakistan’s news channels.
