Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s book titled “Exam Warriors” was launched on Saturday. The book is expected to help in preparing Indian students set to take their board and secondary school examinations. The event was attended and led by Sushma Swaraj, the External Affairs Minister and Prakash Javadekar, the Human Resource Development Minister.
The book’s launch ties in with India’s President Ram Nath Kovind and Narendra’s objective for improving education. Although in a small way and not as an education full-fledged policy, it seems better than nothing at all.
Speeches at the Book Launch
Highlighted moments during the speeches show that the External Affairs Minister suggested that the book is a relief for students in India. She added that it helps instill confidence in students as they prepare to tackle their examinations and face life. She doubled up the aspect as one of the benefits of the Narendra’s book.
While urging the students to read the book, she expounded on the 25 mantras included by the Prime Minister in his book. Exam Warriors is a combination of Narendra Modi’s Man ki Baat address to students recently. The address was focused on stress faced by students just about to take their level exams.
Javadekar, the Human Resource Development Minister also lauded the book reverting that it will aid the students in overcoming last-minute stress before exams. He added that the book is not constrained for students but could also be used by their parents. He concluded by stating that Exam Warriors fits Narendra Modi’s call of “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas”
Sushma’s Misplaced Speech
During Sushma’s speech, it is noted that she made some misdirected points while motivating the students at the book launch. She was informing the students not to give in to pressures of competing with one another but to compete with themselves. She mistakenly told the students that “March is the time for elections.”
At a student forum, meant for educational matters, the election matters have no place in the event. It was most embarrassing as the Minister did not only once interchangeably use “election” in the part of “education,” she used it at least three times rendering the crowd into laughter. She veiled her mistakes with the idea that she is a political leader hence the notion of elections comes to her mind quite often.
Exam Warrior is also available in an app called ‘Narendra Modi App’ which also offers students a platform to interact with the Prime Minister. Students are expected to seat their exams in February before which the Prime Minister will interact with them on February 16.
