Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi devised an unusual equation to describe the future of our country.  He said that India needs to embrace technology in a more collective manner.  Till now it was in a piece-meal fashion. It also must be embraced by all the areas of our society to have real benefit.

According to him, “IT + IT= IT”, he was addressing during the launch of the new digital filing system in Supreme Court. PM Modi described his equation that, Information technology + Indian Talent = India Tomorrow. He also added that the always should be larger. According to him embracing technology can’t happen if only a few people are involved and interested in it. He also described that it is the only ‘mindset issue’. Mindsets of people have to be changed, and that will be the beginning of the journey. However, nothing will happen even after very much automation in doing things or using technology, if mindsets of people don’t change. They will always try to neglect that automation.

Even when we send someone an SMS, later we call him asking, did you receive my SMS? “This is what I mean to say when I say old mindset need to be changed.  PM Modi’s anther vision is e-governance, which is very easy, user-friendly, effective and economical. And obviously, it is also environment-friendly. Paperless offices will benefit the environment.

Till now the process of filing a complaint was totally manual and paperwork. But from now it will be completely digital and online. Everyone can register any complaint online through internet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was inaugurating the ICMIS of Supreme Court. ICMIS is a digital service which will enable us to register a complaint online. Modi said that in his last meeting with the CJI he expressed his concern on the reduction of no of cases. He also emphasized that the need of the hour is to focus on the application of science, engineering, and technology. According to him the direction of taking the route through automation, digital and online is the right direction for Supreme Court. But obviously, it is true that the total process is totally dependent on the mindset of people and willingness to use the online service. And government should take a drive to help poor people and people of urban and sub-urban people to use this service otherwise it will have no meaning.

A branded advanced techno airplane is not the solution of time-saving for the journey. Suitable and competent is also the equal requirement to drive the plane. Till date, the situation of India is not suitable for these drives to enter into a digital world. But, it is also true that we need to familiarize with the system for the betterment of life and development of our country.
