Obviously, the decision is really a good move but the hidden politics of the emotional game is unknown to everyone. For so long, the face of the country’s first president, George Washington, has been on one side of the coin. Picture of an eagle on the other back. This has been the practice for the last 90 years. But this time the tradition is breaking in America. Maya Angelou, a poet, writer, and activist, is pictured on the country’s 25 cent coin (commonly known as the Quarter in America). This is the first time a picture of a woman of African-American descent has been used in the American Quarter. This move by Joe Biden’s government will obviously get some emotional support from black.

The 25-cent coin was officially unveiled by the American Mint yesterday. The process of releasing the currency made in Denver and Philadelphia has also started. From now on, the 25 cents coin will have a picture of a black Maya on one side and Washington on the other.

Maya Angelou, creator of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, was born in Missouri, the USA in 1926. The poet has fought alongside personalities such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X in the black rights movement. He died in 2014.
