The joint road show of Akhilesh Yadav and Rahula Gandhi has been scheduled in 4th march. Actually, the show was scheduled on 27th February, Monday but due to some reason, it has been postponed twice. Although the route has not been decided till now but it will be decided soon, it can be started from Varanasi police line, said District congress president, Prajanath Sharma.

Initially, the show scheduled on 11th February 2017 but it was postponed in view of large numbers of pilgrims visiting on the occasion of Ravidas Jayanti. According to Ajay ray, Congress MLA of Pindra assembly, Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting in Pindra Assembly constituency of Varanasi on 2nd March 2017 in favor of the alliance between SP and Congress. In the last road shown of Rahul-Akhilesh in Allahabad during the fourth phase of UP election, drew a huge crowd of mostly youngsters. Both of them have conducted a couple of road show since the Cong-SP alliance. Lucknow, Kanpur, and Agra were their last road show location and in every location, they drew.

The Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav will first address a public meeting in Keshavpur in Bhadohi of Uttar Pradesh and then in Munari in Varanasi in favor of the SP candidates. After the public meetings, Akhilesh Yadav will move to Varanasi police lines to take part in the roadshow. Spokesperson Satish Rai said that the road show will cover a distance of 15km from Police Lines to Lanka. About 20 to 25 welcome booths will be made at different places on the route.

Rai also said that the Cong is confident of success for the proposed show in view of the past road show of party president in last August. He said that success of Rahul-Akhilesh’s road show in Allahabad had also enthused the workers of both the parties. Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Mr. Ashok Gehlot, who is the coordinator of Uttar Pradesh Congress committee,  decided on 25th February, that he will visit UP to oversee the preparation of road show, but as the last Monday’s show has postponed, he has not arrived there. The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) also geared up their campaign in the said area. After addressing rallies in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh, BJP President Amit Shah visited Varanasi, besides other leaders.

Varanasi, is represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha, goes to poll in the last of the seven-phase assembly election in Uttar Pradesh on 8th March 8. Uttar Pradesh is voting in seven phases, four of which is completed. Counting of votes will take place on March 11.

Till date, the number of road-show is much higher than BJP’s road-show in UP. Acceptance campaign is also higher in the case of SP-Cong. Let’s see what happens on 11th March. There has a proverb in Bengali “Ostader Mar Sesh Rate”. Means- Hero always shows the action at last night. It can be true for BJP.
