We always stuck to our stand that terror and talks cannot go together. Two official talks were there with Pakistan, in Russia and in Bangkok, and both were on terror topic. It is clear to all that the reputation of India as a soft state is over.
Obviously, a huge difference is perceptible between the Modi government in last three years compared to earlier regimes. The difference is in statistical proof of delivery of promises made during the elections three years ago and also with the change in attitude this government has wrought within the polity. The speed of this government to serve the ‘common man’, or the last man in the queue, has already been considerably remarked upon which was the part of its commitment to the philosophy of ‘antyodaya’. From providing the domestic gas connections to the highest production of urea to the exponential growth in the roads network, no one can point a finger at the Modi government. Total 2.4 crores cooking gas connection already provided and expected to touch 5 crores by 2019, compared to 12.5 crores since independence. Modi Government also provided 28 crore bank accounts and 4 crore toilets to the people. The current account deficit has been brought down to as low as 0.7 % which is really historic from a macroeconomic perspective. The Forex reserve is at an all-time high of $360 billion and inflation is down to less than half of what was in the UPA government.
Transportation and Solar power improvement are also remarkable. Solar Power has grown by over 450%in the last three years. Modi government had given the commitment of green energy and they have fulfilled their commitment. The International Solar Alliance’s research technology and facilities aim to make solar power affordable, which is coming up in Gurgaon near the national capital.
In the areas of transportation also a big shift in approach has been tried by Modi government. The periodic flooding of the perennial rivers in eastern states like- Bihar, Bengal & Assam are now being channeled and as a result, it carves out waterways. The Coastal sea routes have been opened up for domestic transportation of people and goods under the Sagar Mala Project.
Moreover, this BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed our mindset also in socio-economic sectors. The campaign around ‘Beti Bachaao – Beti Padaao’ has given a huge push to the infant sex ratio in western states. ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign has led to thousands of villages shunning open defecation and pledging basic cleanliness.
Many have flagged the issue of creating jobs by this BJP government led by Narendra Modi. Pre and post globalization, the jobs scenario has undergone a huge change. While jobs in the govt. have got significantly trimmed but opportunities in private and foreign sectors have opened up big time. Further, re-evolution of Information Technology (IT)-enabled services surely has added a new dimension to the jobs market. Also, it has consciously moved towards promoting self-employment through setting up micro enterprises, small businesses and cottage industries using ‘mudra loans’.
