A news source said, “The top leadership of the AAP, including the Chief Minister, wants to send Harbhajan to the Rajya Sabha as a nominee. The new Chief Minister wants the quality of sports in the state to be improved under the leadership of Harbhajan. That standard has dropped dramatically in the last few years.” He added, “Harbhajan has always wanted to work for the benefit of the people and especially for the benefit of sports personalities. If the opportunity arises, then he is ready to take that responsibility.”
It is to be noted that there was a rumor that Harbhajan may join the BJP before the Punjab elections. A BJP leader also fuelled the speculation. Later, Harbhajan was seen again with Punjab Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu. Later, Harbhajan put an end to the rumors of joining politics.
