The lone survivor of the 8th Dec chopper crash, Group Captain Varun Singh has passed away. He was admitted to Air Force Command Hospital for treatment. However, on Wednesday Group Captain Varun Singh succumbed to the crash injuries. His passing adds another number to the 8th December chopper crash death list.

On 8th December, a chopper crash killed General Bipin Rawat along with his wife and 11 others. At that time, he was the only survivor. Now, with the death of the Group Captain, all the 14 passengers of the fateful chopper have died.

The Indian Air Force has mourned the sudden death of Group Captain Singh. In the tweet they have expressed their sorrow, stating that they are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Group Captain Varun Singh. He succumbed to the injuries Wednesday morning. In addition to this, The Air Force has offered their deep condolence to the family of Group Captain Singh. They have also promised to stand by the family in time of need. Varun Singh was 39 years old at the time of his passing.

He was serving as Directing Staff at the Defence Services Staff College. PM Modi has also expressed his sorrow through a tweet.
