In the first address of Yogi Adityanath after he was sworn in as the Uttar Pradesh chief minister, on Saturday he addressed a gathering in his hometown Gorakhpur, assuring that he will follow Prime Minister Modi’s “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas” mantra and nobody will be discriminated under his rule. Yogi Adityanath Took a veiled jibe at Indian National Congress (INC) and Samajwadi Party (SP). Adityanath said there will be “development for all, and appeasement for none” under his leadership.
Yogi Adityanath said that he and his party will show Uttar Pradesh how to run a government. How politics should treat a common man. He also claimed that the newly formed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government will fulfill all promises made in the election manifesto and we will fulfill all the expectations of UP people. Thanking PM Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah for their active role in the party’s landslide victory in UP, Yogi Adityanath said that BJP got the majority owing to the strategy laid out by Amit Shah, and the leadership of the Modiji.
He also talked about the caste and gender discrimination issue in Uttar Pradesh. Assuaging the apprehensions of the minority community, he said that there will be no discrimination against anybody on the gender, caste or religious grounds. Adityanath said that all we need to put an end to the regional imbalance in development”. Even he issued a warning also to his own supporters over alleged cases of increasing vigilantism by anti-Romeo squads. Yogi said, “Till now UP has been deprived, but it will not be neglected now. After few years Uttar Pradesh will become a developed state”. He also added that he promised to work for all and said that people should not take the law and rules-regulations into their own hands. He also announced a govt. subsidy of Rs 1 lakh for healthy pilgrims who want to go to the Kailash- Mansarovar Yatra.
On Friday, Yogi had visited the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow for seeking a solution for Dalit gang-rape and acid attack victim. He also gave a cheque of Rs 1 lakh as compensation to the husband of the victim and directed the police officials to immediately catch the accused and initiate strict action immediately against the guilty.
Earlier, on Monday, after being sworn-in as the Chief Minister of UP, the Yogi-turned-politician directed all state govt. officers to declare their assets and income (movable and immovable) within fifteen days. He had ordered all his ministers to do the same.
