Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an emergency meeting with high-ranking officials to look into the Covid situation in the country. The meeting was scheduled for 4:30 pm on Sunday.

From the last few days,  the sharp rise in the infection rate is really worrying. In the last 24 hours, more than one and a half lakhs Covid cases have been reported, excluding the Omicron figures. Just a week ago the total number in the country was below 25 thousand. Pm Modi called the meeting to discuss with the high-ranking officials how to deal with it.

Already a few state governments have started night curfew in their respective states. But that is not the only solution. One side is the Covid and on another side, it is the economy. A balanced approach will be helpful to deal with the issue.

The meeting was attended by  Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba, and other top officials. Already prime minister Modi conveyed the message of “caution”. In his last meeting on 24th December, he urged people to Earlier, the Prime Minister held a meeting with government officials on December 24. In that meeting, obey all the approved guidelines and also convey the message of ‘caution’ and ‘caution’.
