Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s budget proposal. “Everyone will benefit from this budget,” he said on Tuesday. Modi thanked Nirmala and her team for calling the budget “people-oriented and progressive”.

The Prime Minister also demanded in Parliament that the central budget this time would strengthen the national economy and help in investment and infrastructure development. “This budget is the beginning of new development in the face of the worst catastrophe of the century,” he said, adding that he would give a detailed response to the central budget on Wednesday.

Introducing the budget proposal on Tuesday, Nirmala said the fiscal growth rate for the current financial year could be 9.26 percent. In extreme cases, the center seems to be promising enough. The budget has increased the allocation for the capital expenditure sector. Most of which will be spent on the construction of roads, bridges, and other infrastructure. Modi claims that in addition to strengthening the foundations of the economy, the budget will also increase employment opportunities.
