The United States has repeatedly sought to oust North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. It is alleged that the ambassador provided the information to Hussein. But standing by Kim’s side, China and Russia are thwarting all those efforts. The United States recently proposed sanctions against Pyongyang at the United Nations over its missile launch. But for the time being, the proposal is in cold storage due to objections from Moscow and Beijing.

This month, Kim’s army demonstrated its strength by launching a series of ballistic missiles. South Korea and Japan have confirmed the launch of Pyongyang’s ballistic missile. Two neighboring countries have expressed concern over North Korea’s overreaction. After that, the UN Security Council is going to hold a closed-door meeting on the issue again.

Ahead of Thursday’s meeting, US Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas called on North Korea to condemn such an aggressive move. He said several countries, including the United States, Britain, France, and Japan, had condemned Kim’s launch of the ballistic missile. According to sources, the United States has proposed tougher financial sanctions on Pyongyang at the United Nations. But China and Russia, two permanent members of the Security Council, have stated opposition to using force or imposing sanctions.

It is to be noted that in the wake of the country’s acute food crisis in Corona, President Kim emphasized on food production without thinking about replenishing the arsenal for the time being. But since the beginning of the new year, North Korea has started sharpening its weapons again.
