Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has extended a helping hand to 13 organizations run by Mother Teresa Missionaries of Charity (MOC) in Orissa. He has sanctioned Rs 6.7 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help these 13 organizations.
He made the announcement on Tuesday. MOC is headquartered in Kolkata. However, the Center recently shut down a key source of funding for the agency, stating that its Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) license will not be renewed. After that Naveen took this decision.
A statement issued by the Orissa Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday said, “On December 30, the Chief Minister directed that no harm be done to the Missionaries of Charity. In particular, they should not have any problems related to food, safety, and health. The Chief Minister has approved assistance for 13 organizations run by the agency across four districts. More than 900 orphans and leprosy patients in the state will benefit from this decision. ”
The MOC head office in Bhubaneswar expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for this decision. Sister Stanny Rose, Head of Orissa, MOC, said, “We are indebted to the Chief Minister for his support. We never ask for money from anyone. But seeing our charitable work for the helpless and destitute, various people and organizations donate to us”.
In the end, Hindus have to help these Christian missionaries though their main intent is to convert Hindus.
