After a long hiatus, the two warring nations, the United States and Russia, are set to meet in January to discuss security issues in Europe and Ukraine. Nuclear control is also being discussed in detail between the two countries.
However, Washington is not opening its mouth about any issue right now. However, a spokesman for the US National Security Council said in a statement that the meeting would take place on January 10. On Tuesday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov confirmed the date.
He also said that the two leaders will meet in Geneva on the 10th – US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin last met in Geneva in June 2020. The US National Security Council (NSC) official said, “When the two sides sit down, Russia will raise its concerns, and we will raise our concerns.”
Before this meet, they have decided for another discussion on Thursday to discuss the Russian troop buildup near Ukraine during their second call in recent weeks amid little progress toward ending the smoldering crisis.
