Pakistan, keeping a double stand, as usual, has asked the Indian government to stop provoking and firing across the border just a day after an army camp in Jammu’s Sunjuwan was attacked by the Pakistan based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad. The soldiers and their family were targeted by the terrorists in the attack. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the terrorists belonged to the Pakistan based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad and the attacked against the army came in Jammu and she also warned Islamabad that these types of events will not be tolerated and they will have to pay heavy prices for this misadventure.

Defence Minister in an interview informed reporter that India will present evidence to Islamabad regarding the terror attacks which links the terrorist’s connection to their country. New Delhi said that the military along with Special Operations Group was successful in curbing the terrorist attack which started in the early hours of Saturday in Jammu in late Sunday. India accused that Pakistan supported the terrorist who stormed the Sunjuwan OBase and killed Jawans and civilians. It has been training terrorists in camps in the hilly region who aim at disturbing the peace in India. The Jammu region is claimed by both parties but the conflict has been rather discreet as both sides are armed with nuclear weapons.

In reply to Indian Defence Minister’s allegations, Pakistani Foreign Minister said that India was trying to smear the name of Pakistan in the international community and that it rejected every insinuation alleged on them by India. They appealed to the International community to take the matter in due cognizance and that India was deliberately creating the war hysteria. While on the ground, three militants attacked the army base in Sunjuwan in which five soldiers were martyred and one civilian was killed leaving 11 others injured.

This attack came just within a day after the Indian army had been battling with three armed militants in the other part of the disputed region. The spokesperson of CRPF, Rajesh Yadav said that the buildings near the camp where the army has been engaging the militants in a gunfight has been cleared off all civilians. DGP SP Vaid said that police were exchanging fire with the terrorist who is hiding in an abandoned building near the camp. India had blamed Jaish-e-Mohammad for the attack on another army camp in Kashmir in which 17 soldiers were martyred.

The troubled Himalayan region has been facing violence in the recent years in which one paramilitary soldier was killed when two unknown militants opened fire on them. Kashmir has been divided between India and Pakistan and it is a disputed region with most of the Muslim population have anti-India sentiments among them. Since 1989 with support and funds from Pakistan several militant groups have emerged for the fight for Kashmir’s independence.  More than half-million lives have been claimed by this unnecessary and ugly fight between militants and Indian military.

Pakistan always denies that it has any hand behind the resurgence of these militant groups and India has time and again proved it wrong by providing evidence in International forums.
