The Central government has finally accepted the decision made in form of recommendations of the 7th pay Commission hike. They discussed on the minimum pay of the employees and the fitment factor on 29th June 2016. But the employees have been demanding for the rise in the fitment factor and minimum pay beyond the recommendation of the fitment committee. This has been considered as a great news for the Central Government employees who were expecting for a raise in their salary.
A panel has been formed to give its decision on the salary hike. It has been advised to give its report in around six months. Cabinet Secretary, Pradeep Kumar Sinha has been appointed as the head of the panel. Under his supervision, the members of the committee will recommend the new pay structure. The members of the party include officials from the department of personnel and training, home ministry and defense ministry among others. They also took a decision on the pensioners. The Central government said that they do not want any further speculation on the matter. The panel has been deliberating and discussing in this regard. According to a source, the government is eager for the report because the issue matters to a large section of society. It has been speculated that more than one crore people will be affected by the decision and this number is very attractive as a vote bank. The Central Government will not secure the vote of these people if they do not affect the hike.
Concerning the demand of people for the increment in fitment factor and minimum pay far beyond the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission. The panel will work under Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha. He will give a comprehensive report to the Government within six months. The members of the party include officials from the department of personnel and training, home ministry and defense ministry among others like science and technology and health. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has assured that he will form a panel to look into their demands on increment in fitment factor and hike in minimum fare.
According to the sources, the Central Government will give its permission to increase the minimum payment of the central employees. The decision will be announced around the elections this April. The government will increase the fitment factor from 2.57 times to more than 3 times and the minimum payment from Rs 18000 to Rs 21000.
Earlier, the Commission had recommended a 14.27% rise in basic pay and fitment factor around 2.57 times. But the employees have been demanding a rise in basic pay to at least rs 26,000 and fitment factor to be increased to 3.68 times.
