Bharati Pravin Pawar, Minister of State for Health, notified the Lok Sabha on Friday that 108 nations accept the Indian Covid-19 vaccination certificate for travel purposes, according to data available as of December 6.

According to Pawar in a written response, the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (EUL) aids interested UN sourcing agencies, member states, and other countries in deciding the acceptability of using particular vaccines. This data is based on an essential set of available safety, quality, effectiveness, and performance data.

The goal is to make these products easily accessible to people affected by a public health emergency as soon as possible. She explained that this also lets countries speed up their regulatory authority to import and dispense Covid-19 vaccines among the public.

Persons immunized with such vaccines, classified under the WHO-EUL, are considered protected by governments in many countries and are permitted to travel internationally in any country.

However, Covid-19 vaccination is not required for all countries, and some countries allow people to travel to their land without any vaccination certificates. In addition, Covid-19 vaccination is not currently required to travel to India. However, some countries have such prerequisites as of December 6, 2021. Among them, 108 countries recognize the Indian vaccination certificate for travel purposes.
