In the run-up to the Russia-Ukraine war, one meeting after another between the leaders of Europe and the Quad countries is imminent. In view of the changed geopolitical diplomacy and economy, it is expected that the ‘series’ of these discussions could pave the way for India’s foreign policy in the days to come.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have a face-to-face meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in New Delhi. The Prime Minister of Japan is coming to India on a two-day visit on Saturday. After that, Modi has a video meeting with the Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison on Monday.

US Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland and British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will visit India next week. Both US and British officials will hold talks with Foreign Minister S Jayashankar. These meetings are scheduled for the end of March. According to sources, the arrival of Truss is to pave the way for a possible visit of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to India in the coming days.

Modi is scheduled to visit Japan in the second half of this year to join the top stage of the quad. Talks will be held with leaders from the United States, Japan, and Australia. Britain, the United States, Japan, and Australia will also discuss bilateral political and trade issues with India. However, the Russia-Ukraine war situation is undoubtedly going to get the most important in the meeting.

Western diplomats at the United Nations have been pressuring India to vote against Moscow in a vote on Russia but New Delhi has abstained from voting every time.
