The European Union (EU) has discussed the current situation of Ukraine with India. The European Union (EU) said in a statement on Wednesday that it had reviewed Russia’s deployment of large numbers of troops on the Ukrainian border and international concerns over the exercise.

According to a Foreign Ministry source, the meeting provided some information and explanations on the situation in Ukraine on behalf of the EU. An EU official said: “We stand by Ukraine and inform friendly countries of the importance of the situation and its consequences.”

On Wednesday, Indians living in Ukraine were told by the country’s government to return to the country, albeit for a few days. Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian embassy in Ukraine had issued repatriation instructions to Indians residing in the country.

Many countries around the world have already expressed concern over the Russia-Ukraine border tensions. Moscow, however, ruled out fighting, on Wednesday. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said troops from the southern and western provinces were returning to their bases after the exercise ended.

While welcoming Russia’s announcement, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said: “This message is a little bit of hope. But in reality, Russia cannot be trusted until the army is withdrawn. “
