The fear came true. US military equipment used in Afghanistan was found at a militant base on the Indo-Pakistani Line of Control. Naturally, the Indian Army has been shaken by such incidents. This was stated by Major General Ajay Chandpuria while talking to a news agency.
Major Chandpuria said, “The weapons and devices that have been recovered from the militants at the Line of Control (LoC) are not commonly found. These were in Afghanistan during the Taliban attack and after the US troops left.” He also mentioned, “We feel that these weapons have entered Kashmir, not just the militants. ”
According to him, at the moment more than 200 militants are active in Kashmir. This is really a major concern in this current situation in Kashmir. And the real concern is that 40 to 45 percent of them are Pakistanis. However, he said that the number of locals joining the militant group has decreased. But the positive news is that it has become one-third of the previous year.
According to him, not only the present concern over the situation but also we have to be wary of Pakistan in the future as well. He also expressed concern that militants were trying to infiltrate regularly despite violating the ceasefire agreement.
