It’s got to that time in the soccer season where despite matches still being played left right and center, attention ever so slowly begins to turn to the transfer window in the summer and what big moves may lay ahead. As a neutral fan of the Premier League, the transfer window is thrilling and with the amount of money within the league ever increasing there’s no reason why this year’s window can’t be as good as ones from the past.

Joe Hart’s future undecided

Manchester City outcast Joe Hart will be looking for a new club come the end of the season when his loan at Italian side Torino comes to an end. Although the England goalkeeper’s future is very much up in the air, one thing that is certain is that Hart needs first team soccer at a reputable club. His main concern will be that he needs to do everything he can to hold onto his spot as England’s number one goalkeeper. Although there’s no obvious destination for Hart it’s clear he’s not welcome at Man City and Torino probably aren’t a club playing at a high enough level where he is guaranteed to keep his England place. Therefore in the summer I wouldn’t be surprised if Hart joined a Premier League side, perhaps Liverpool who are debatably in need of better goalkeeping options.

Manchester City want Dani Alves

Pep Guardiola’s first campaign in charge at Man City has been fairly successful thus far but there’s clearly some room for improvement to turn the side into title contenders as they currently find themselves a fair bit behind leaders Chelsea. Rumours suggest that Pep Guardiola is looking to improve the quality of his defence in the form of Dani Alves. The two know each other well back from their days at Barcelona. Alves would bring some experience to the side but I would also worry that he would struggle to adapt to the Premier League given that he’s only ever played in much less physical competitions. Regardless it could prove to be a worthwhile signing with what he would bring to the dressing room.

West Brom interested in John Terry

West Brom boss Tony Pulis has openly admitted that should Chelsea captain John Terry become available in the summer he would look into bringing the English veteran to The Hawthorns. The center back is out of contract at the end of the season and neither him or Chelsea have expressed any intentions on what could happen to Terry come the close of the season. At 36 there’s no reason why he wouldn’t retire all together. If he were to retire at the end of the season he would undoubtably enter the Chelsea hall of fame as a legend. In addition given the way the Premier League table is looking could finish on a high, becoming a Premier League champion once again. But this all comes down to how Terry feels. He might yet feel as though he’s got at least one more soccer season left in him. Likely destinations would be lower table sides such as West Brom or perhaps the MLS. Although Tony Pulis expressing interest in Terry is pretty ambitious, it wouldn’t be a massive shock to see this move materialise. Although if I were Terry I’d rather end my career in the Premier League on a high.

The upcoming transfer window looks as though it will be a very interesting few months with some potentially big moves and the end of sagas such as that of Joe Hart.
