Afghanistan Kabul City

The Taliban, eager to establish diplomatic relations with India, has received such news from diplomatic sources. The current Afghan government will be active in formalizing relations not only with India but also with various countries in Asia and Europe, keeping in mind the stagnant economy of the war-torn country, said Suhail Shahin, the Taliban’s envoy to the UN.

According to Suhail, “Kabul is ready to create a ‘safe environment’ for Indian diplomats and embassies.” “We want all countries, including India, to reopen their embassies in Kabul,” he said. Let them start working normally again. We are ready to create a safe environment for their work. Diplomatic presence is needed to strengthen bilateral relations. ”

After the Taliban took control of Kabul on August 15 last year, India closed its embassy and repatriated the diplomats. However, the South Bloc maintains minimal contact with Taliban officials to deliver humanitarian aid to the country. So far, 6,000 metric tons of wheat have been shipped to Afghanistan through Pakistan’s Wagah border. A total of 50,000 metric tons of wheat is targeted to be sent. Significantly, for the first time since 2006, Pakistan allowed its territory to be used to transport goods from India to Afghanistan.

In addition to talking to different countries, they have also started talks with the previous government of Afghanistan. However, there is speculation in New Delhi as to whether Pakistan may have any interest in opening an Indian embassy in that country, or not at all.
