Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s Logical Solution to the Ayodhya Dispute

According to a report, the board has launched an investigation into meeting between Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Maulana Salman Nadwi for an out-of-court settlement. Art of Living (AOL) founder and Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said that the only solution to the dispute of the Ayodhya is to shift the mosque to a nearby place and allow the construction the Ram Lala Mandir at the disputed site.

Sri Sri Ravishankar, who will be on February 20 Ayodhya visit said at a satsan that he is in favor of an out-of-court settlement in the decades-old case. He further added that all political parties who are in touch with him are on the same page and they want the same out-of-court settlement of the issue.

He explained that the Mosque should be shifted to some nearby place as if a mosque is constructed within the 1acre land of total 60 acres of disputed land, more than fifty-thousand policeman will be deployed there to protect it.

On Thursday, Ravi Shankar held a meeting with Muslim leaders including persons from Sunni Waqf Board and All India Muslim Personal Law Board. According to a report, the executive member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Maulana Syed Salman Hussain Nadvi was also supporting the proposal made by Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar that the construction of Ram Mandir at the disputed land should be allowed and he demanded that extra land should be allocated for the construction of a mosque in a nearby land.

The AIMPLW said on Friday said that it will only accept Supreme Court’s verdict in the ongoing Babri Masjid-Ram Janabhoomi title dispute, PTI reported. This matter is disputed and pending before the Supreme Court.

The AIMPLB Spokesperson and Secretary Zafaryab Jilani said there was no change in their mind about the decision. He said that they will accept the verdict of Supreme Court only in the disputed case. He further explained that their position is clear and they have already told in April 2017 that attempts should be made at for a negotiated settlement. He said that he is firm on his decision and so are other members.

As some document sand translations had not been filed yet so the SC had adjourned the hearing in the matter till 14 March. Clarifying its stand, the Sc said that it will treat the matter as a pure and dispute.

The special bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and S Abdul Nazeer Justices Ashok Bhushan has taken up thirteen appeals filed against the judgment of the Allahabad High Court. The Allahabad court had ruled a three-way split of the disputed 2.77 acres in Ayodhya. The disputed plot has been divided among the organization called the Nirmohi Akhara and Sunni Waqf Board and a Hindu and Ram Lalla or Infant Rama, which is represented by the Hindu Mahasabha for the construction of the Ram temple at the site since last century.
