Ghulam Nabi Azad, the leader of the pro-Congress faction G-23, went to give ‘advice’ to Sonia Gandhi. The G-23 demanded a complete overhaul of the party after the collapse of the Congress in five state assembly elections. After meeting Sonia on Friday, Ghulam said the meeting went well. He shared his suggestions for the team with Sonia. After that, the speculation has started again, but is Congress going to think of something new about the leadership?

The Congress seat in Uttar Pradesh, led by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, did not increase. As a result, the question was, who will be the face of Congress this time? After failing in five states, Sonia, Rahul, and Priyanka wanted to resign at the party’s working committee meeting. But the members of the working committee objected to it at once. After the meeting on Friday, Ghulam also said that they have no objection to accepting Sonia as the party president. They belong to the pro-Congress G-23 group.

Ghulam is the leader of that group. Members like Shashi Tarur, Kapil Sibal, Anand Mishra, Manish Tiwari, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Raj Babbar are old loyal and big leaders of the Congress. On their behalf, Ghulam said, “All members of the party want Sonia to be the president.” We just had a few other suggestions. That is what we told him. “But what Ghulam did not say was whether he had any discussions with Sonia about the leadership of the party or what advice they had to give to Sonia.”
