Gujarat state is Prime Minister Narendra’s Modi’s home state and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) stronghold for years to come. The recently concluded Gujarat legislative elections in December threatened to change the aspect after Congress party won almost half the seats. On the other hand, Rajasthan By-Elections proved that BJP is losing grip of its influence in some states.

Shiv Sena party recently denounced their longtime allies – BJP when they announced to drop out of their alliance. Reasons for dropping out were not clear but Shiv Sena felt that BJP was disrespecting them. It is also assumed that Shiv Sena felt belittled by BJP after it won the majority of seats in Mumbai Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly.

Shiv Sena Says No Need for Alliance

Shiv Sena party made an analysis of the Rajasthan by-poll results and the December legislative Assembly polls in Gujarat and concluded that there was no question about going back into an alliance with BJP in their upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena’s leader, said on Friday that the Gujarat polls were a trailer and Rajasthan by-elections the interval to a film that is yet to come.  He stated that the film will be the much anticipated 2019 Mumbai Lok Sabha elections. Sanjay defended their party’s decision to break off from BJP by terming that, because of the result trends in both the Gujarat and Rajasthan polls and by-polls respectively, they had no doubt made the right choice.

Shiv Sena’s leader also attacked the Union Budget 2018. He stated that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented a fantastic budget on Thursday. But it was only on paper despite the reality that farmers were committing suicide. He urged the BJP government not to promise the nation that the implementation is coming soon as it will be a lie.

Overview of Rajasthan By-poll Results

The opposition’s Congress party witnessed victory in Rajasthan by-poll stations. It was confident that it will win Ajmer and Awal Lok Sabha seats. Mandalgarh Assembly seat Congress win came as a surprise.

It is also evident that Congress’ victory was a big shock for the Vasundhara Raje led government. The government is now wary of its stake in the 2019 elections.  Chief Minister Raje, a BJP loyalist, tweeted that she has accepted Rajasthan’s verdict and committed that her government will work with renewed favor and dedication to take the state to new heights.
