The Foreign Ministry is keen to start active diplomacy in the new year as soon as the third wave of Covid ends. This January, Foreign Minister S Jayashankar has started the discussion with 24 countries over phone calls in the last month.
So far he has spoken to 24 foreign leaders by phone. They also talked about cooperation, traditional coordination, bilateral investment. Besides, security and strategic exchanges were also discussed with some countries in the new year.
In early January, Jayashankar chose the foreign ministers of the United States and France, who are at opposite poles in today’s geopolitics. He has made phone calls to various countries in South Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe’s main ally, West Asia, Africa, and South America. According to sources, the emergency tour and exchange will start as soon as the emergency situation improves. According to statistics, Jayashankar has completed 30 overseas tours in the second wave of Covid last year.
