The Delhi police did a great job yesterday when they caught Ariz Khan, a terrorist wanted in several terror cases. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh praised the work done by Delhi Police saying that they have done some really exceptional task in past few days and that they did a great job when IM terrorist Junaid was arrested. Junaid was feeling from police since last ten years but he has finally been captured by the efforts of Delhi Police.
On the occasion of 71st Raisina parade, home Minister showered praises on the recent works of Delhi police saying that they have been doing some exceptional job recently. The parade was held on the occasion of the forces who guard the national capital. Listing various achievements of Delhi Police, Mr. Singh said that Delhi police had captured IM terrorist Junaid and helped releasing the Sanjay Leela Bhansali Film Padmavat in National Capital without any problems and now the arrest of Ariz Khan was good news. Khan has been sent to the special cell Banbasa at the Indo-Nepal border in Uttarakhand. He was present in the gunfight at the Batla house flat in 2008 between police and terrorists.
Home Minister said that the forensics have been playing a great role in capturing the terrorists and the government is adding forensic labs in NCR. Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) is soon going to be in operational stage giving police an edge when fighting with criminals. A contribution of Rs. 5 crores towards the Delhi Police Martyrs Fund had also been announced. The corpus is funded by Delhi police personnel by donating one day salary every year.
The Intelligent Traffic Management System initiatives and force’s community policing were appreciated by the home minister in his speech. He also praised the Delhi Police in ensuring the successful release of controversial film Padmaavat. After fighting a legal battle for some time in Supreme Court, the filmmakers managed to get a certificate from a special panel of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and the film was finally successful in releasing on 25th January.
Home Minister said that the way Delhi police provided security in cinemas theaters was commendable as it seemed that the release will face a lot of problems from various outfits including the Karni Sena and others. Due to the vigilance of Delhi Police, any mishaps were avoided.
