Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a one-day visit to Pune today. Here he inaugurated the Pune Metro Rail Project. Along with this, PM Modi unveiled the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Pune Municipal Corporation premises. This statue made of 1850 kg gunmetal has been installed in Pune Municipal Corporation. Along with this, the PM also laid the foundation stone of many development projects. Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol were also present on the occasion.
The PM inaugurated the RK Laxman Art Gallery-Museum in Pune today and also inaugurated the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Symbiosis University. Apart from this, the PM also traveled by boarding the metro. Not only this, but he has also talked to many differently-abled students present there during the journey in the same metro.
During the inauguration, the PM said, ‘At this time our country is celebrating the 75th Independence Day, the city of Pune in Maharashtra has contributed a lot to India’s independence. I pay my respectful homage to all the freedom fighters of this land.”
He said that it is a matter of good fortune that Pune gave me an opportunity to lay the foundation stone.
