The Congress alleges that the Trinamool Congress has continued to split along with the Goa alliance. And that is why the alliance process between the two parties did not move forward in the Goa assembly polls, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said on Sunday. Last week in Goa, Trinamool All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee pointed a finger at the Congress for not having an alliance or understanding between the two parties.

Abhishek also threw questions at Chidambaram, the acting Congress leader in Goa. In his usual reply on the day, Chidambaram said, “There was no instruction from the top leadership of the Congress about the alliance.” However, a few incidents also happened simultaneously. Earlier, the Trinamool Congress had fielded Congress MLA Luisinho Falero. After nominating two more Congress candidates, the Trinamool took them into the party.

Addressing the Congress leaders in Goa, Chidambaram said, “Those who have left the party, the Congress will not take them back.”
