Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a virtual meeting with district governors of different states on Saturday. Recently, the Center wanted to amend the cadre rules of IAS. After the Prime Minister’s direct meeting with the district governors on this day, the question has arisen, what is the message given by the Center to strengthen its control over these officers? Because the meeting of the district governors with the Prime Minister has not been seen at least in the recent past.

Many of the administrative observers say that if the proposed amended rules are implemented, virtually the entire amount of officer control will go to the center. Therefore, the responsibility of the officers will be largely towards the center. Incidentally, this theory has something in common with the “attitude” of the Prime Minister’s meeting today

According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to know the experience of the district governors in today’s meeting. What kind of problems they have to face while taking action was also on the list of Modi’s inquiries. He also advised the district magistrates to stay overnight if necessary to inspect any work. He further added that targets need to be set for the next two years. Steps should also be taken to give national and international recognition to the district. In districts where progress is less than expected, they need to be more proactive.
