Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Gobar-Dhan, Asia’s largest bio-CNG plant in Indore. He inaugurated the project through a video conference in Indore on Saturday at 1 pm. Speaking at the inaugural function, the Prime Minister said, “In the next two years, the construction of such dung-rich bio-CNG plants will be completed in 75 major municipalities of the country. This campaign will make the cities of India clean, pollution-free. The use of clean energy will increase. ”

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were present on the occasion. Under Transparent India Mission 2.0, the Center aims to make the country’s cities litter-free. This mission can be made a reality through the Gobar-Dhan project.

The plant has the capacity to treat 550 tons of segregated organic waste per day. The plant will produce about 16,000 kg of CNG and 100 tons of organic compost daily. The plant will also offer multiple environmental benefits such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, providing green energy with organic compost as fertilizer.

The plant is a joint venture between Indore Clean Energy Private Limited, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), and Indo Enviro Integrated Solutions Limited (IEISL). It is learned that Indore Municipality will buy at least 50 percent CNG produced at the plant.

In 2014, Prime Minister Modi launched the ‘Transparent India Campaign’. The Prime Minister’s dream project has been going on since then.
