Till now the replacement process of lungs was only available in the United States and Canada but from now this can be done in India also. A team of scientists at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, have developed this advanced technology for lungs transplant. They said that they have got the technology to keep the transplant organs in good condition for a long time.
They have not only developed the technology but also performed a successful lung transplant using this technology. “This is the first time in India that a successful lung transplant has been made possible using this technology,” the Hyderabad-based company said.
The doctor who led the whole affair, Sandeep Atawar, said it had taken an additional six months to bring the technology to the desired craft. He claims that this technology will reduce the risk of organ transplants by more than 50%. This technology raised the bar of Indian medical science at a very high level in the global market. Now India has proved that it can compete with all developed countries in every subject from rocket science to medical science.
