Oil is Libya’s key resource, and income from the export of oil is fundamental if the GNA (National Accord’s Tripoli-based Government) is to modify the economy and foundation of the North African country, desolated by brutality and strife between groups since the 2011 uprising that prompted to the toppling of the late pioneer named as “Muammar Gaddafi”. The National Accord’s Tripoli-based Government, also known as “GNA”, has attempted to state its power over the nation since it was formed a year ago in December.

Libya remains territorially split with two main forces that politically restrict each other and a heap of opponent armed teams that the two governments of the nation are not able to control. The powers of military person Khalifa Haftar, who was controlling the “oil crescent” since September, just lost the ground. According to their representatives, after the launch of an attack on Friday by a group known as “Benghazi Defense Brigade” (BDB), they had done air strikes against them. The four oil ports in the range give quite a bit of Libya’s fair pay.

According to the guard from the Petroleum Facilities from an armed team drove by a person named as “Ibrahim Jathran” who is faithful to the Tripoli-based government, the team organized an attack on two of the oil ports on Sunday caught by the forces of “Haftar” a week ago. Haftar’s troops successfully controlled the oil ports of Zuwaytina along with Ras Lanuf, Brega as well as Al-Sidra in the alleged oil crescent located along the drift, which was then given under control of the National Oil Corporation. An intermediary battle is being pursued in Libya due to the battles on the oil ports.

According to the head of the oil guards faithful to Haftar named as “Muftah al-Muqarief”, counterattack made on Sunday on the two oil ports was actually propelled from the west by the volunteer armies upheld by outlaws. As indicated by “Muftah al-Muqarief”, they repulsed that attack and they were pursuing the attackers in the area and caught few attackers of that oil ports.

The loss of the ports and all these battles was a hit to the GNA. The battling on the oil ports came as the state-run the National Oil Corporation arranged to start oil trades again from the ports that were barred for quite a long while. As reported by “Al Jazeera’s Mahmoud Abdel Wahed”, all the circumstance highlights the inconsistency and difficulty of the NOC. NOC should be faithful to the National Accord’s Government. However, it just welcomed the control of oil ports by Haftar.
