Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke on the rising tension on the India-Pakistan border. He reassured that amidst the tensions both present and future affecting India, the country would continue to hold its head high. He gave this message of hope in a tweet on Saturday.

There have been three days of consecutive ceasefire fire violations by Pakistan. This act of violence has resulted in casualties on both Pakistan and Indian civilians.  In reaction to these occurrences, Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti spoke with grief. She expressed her sorrow and said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are the worst victims of the ruthlessness between the two countries. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said that she was distraught to hear that three more civilians were caught in the continuing crossfire on the India-Pakistan border. She went ahead to say that she prays that the hostility across the borders comes to an end soon.

Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah also raised his concern over the dreadful number of deaths that are resulting from the ceasefire violations by Pakistan. The former Chief Minister who has previously been in controversy for his statements concerning Jammu and Kashmir, PoK and Pakistan said that it is not only BSF jawans being affected but civilians too. He said that the tragedy along the border is tremendous. He expressed hope that the country’s neighbors realize that the continuing crossfire will not take them anywhere other than destruction.

Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for the Ministry of the North Easter Region expressed his take on the continuing three-day ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the India-Pakistan border. He had a different sentiment over the situation at hand. The minister said that the civilians who live along the border areas hold strong morals. Jitendra Singh added that the matter of concern is statements of those people who consider themselves as mainstream politicians. He went ahead to say that when in power, these politicians call Kashmir an integral part of India but then make irresponsible remarks otherwise.

The unrest along the India-Pakistan border continues into another day. There continue to be innocent civilian deaths and injuries on both sides of the border, resulting in a lose-lose situation. Many politicians and civilians hope that the crossfire comes to an end as soon as possible.
