Yesterday the Gujarat government handed over Indian citizenship to 41 Pakistani Hindus. The information has been given in an official release of the state government. In the office of Ahmedabad Collector Sandpi Sagale, 41 people were given citizenship of India. This move of the Indian government was welcomed by Pakistani Hindus. Pakistani Hindus expressed happiness in getting Indian citizenship.
Ahmedabad Collector Mr. Sandpi Sagale told that the people who have been given citizenship are in the age group of 14 to 70 years. He said that applications come to us and before the citizenship is issued, we check and work on the documents. He told that till now 971 Hindus who came from Pakistan have been given citizenship.
Let us inform you that Hindu refugees settled in India from Pakistan years ago have been given citizenship from time to time. Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh government had also given citizenship to 75 people. 75 Hindu refugees settled in Indore after coming from Pakistan were given Indian citizenship last year.
It is worth noting that Indore in Madhya Pradesh is a city where a large number of Hindus from Pakistan live. People of Sindhi society had come from Pakistan years ago and settled in Indore. Although most of these refugees have got Indian citizenship, but there are still a large number of refugees in India who have not got Indian citizenship.
