Before the Goa assembly polls, Trinamool again questioned the Congress’ willingness to fight the BJP. Trinamool leader Pawan Burma claimed that he had met Congress observer P Chidambaram in the Goa assembly polls on a “specific proposal” to form an alliance against the BJP. But there was no positive response.

Trinamool All India Vice-President Pawan said on Thursday, “I went to Chidambaram’s house in Delhi at 1.30 pm on December 24. I informed that our party leader Mamata Banerjee is in favor of forming a strong opposition alliance against the BJP in Goa. Earlier, Chidambaram had said that the Congress had not received any specific proposal from the Trinamool Congress to form an anti-BJP alliance in Goa.

Trinamool All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee also raised the issue of Pawan’s remarks at a press conference in Goa on Thursday. “I respect Chidambaram, but he is trying to mislead people,” he said. He is a prominent lawyer. If Pawan makes false allegations, you can file a case against him. ”

Last week, Trinamool MP Mahua Maitra alleged that a proposal had been sent on his behalf to formally negotiate with the Congress in Goa. But two weeks later, no contact was made by Congress.
