All the big political leaders of India have started analyzing the facts, background and the effect of the BJP’s victory in the North-eastern region. West Bengal government, Karnataka government, Union ministers and much more have already commented on the facts and this time former j& K CM Mr. Farooq Abdullah also commented on Congress’ performance, but you can observe that one similarity is there, that is an anti-BJP comment.
Although everyone knows that the BJP has certainly increased their vote percentage in those regions but oppositions are always there to help you to lose confidence. But the case of Farooq Abdullah is a little bit different. He has commented on not only the poll result issue but also on the division of India-Pakistan.
The former CM of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Farooq Abdullah said that as per his opinion, the Congress President Rahul Gandhi has not failed. It will take time for Rahul to grow as he has just posted as the party President. It’s not Rahul Gandhi’s defeat. According to him, any party can revive if it works for people.
He also mentioned that the Congress need some time to deliver its charisma. Mr. Farooq Abdullah is always on the side of Congress and always wanted to protect Congress. He said that still, 1 year is there before the general elections in 2019, if the Congress can work for people then it has a great chance to make its government in the center again.
After the result in those 3 states, the Congress suffered a humiliating defeat. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wrested Tripura, the last Left bastion, and received an invitation to be a part of the government in Nagaland, while in the Meghalaya it is elected a hung Assembly.
He doesn’t underestimate the strength of the Congress party as the National Conference was part of the previous UPA-led coalition at the center. His another statement on India-Pakistan division is also at the center of controversy. On Saturday the former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mr. Abdullah claimed that we cannot blame Muhammad Ali Jinnah for the division of India-Pakistan. He did not want to “divide” India and create a separate Muslim.
The entire partition took place only because of the decision of top political leaders of the time like- Jawaharlal Nehru, Maulana Azad and Sardar Patel who refused to accept minority status for Muslims and Sikhs in India.
He said, “Muhammad Ali Jinnah didn’t want to divide the country. The commission was launched and the decision was taken that India would be divided. The commission said that we will keep a special representation for minorities like Muslims and Sikhs. Also, we will keep special dispensation for Muslims and Sikh, but will not let the country divide”. But ultimately it divided the nation.
