Every picture posted by Archana Gautam is seen and liked by at least five or six thousand people. About eight lakh of his fans are there on Instagram. In spite of that, Archana brought 1519 votes only to the Congress party!
Archana stood for election from the Hastinapur assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh. The Samajwadi Party candidate got one lakh 275 votes in the same center in the Meerut district of western Uttar Pradesh. He did not win, however. The winning BJP candidate in Hastinapur got one lakh 6 thousand 56 votes. If so, why only one and a half thousand votes in the hands of the Congress party?
Archana has given herself a possible answer to this question. “People in Hastinapur have filled me with love, but I can’t believe it,” he wrote on Twitter after the results were announced.
Hastinapur, however, knows Archana as ‘Bikini Girl’. The Congress MLA candidate has a long association with the short stay of beach girls. In 2016, she won the title of the best in the ‘Miss Bikini Universe’ competition. She also got the opportunity to act in several Bollywood films. Even, still starring in regional films.
