Kamaraj Plan 2.0. Many are seeing the shadow of the six-decade-old Jawaharlal Nehru era when 24 ministers from Andhra Pradesh submitted their resignation letters to Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday. This was exactly the same as the ‘Kamaraj Plan’ in 1963. All the members of the Union Cabinet gave their resignation letters to Prime Minister Nehru on the instructions of the then Congress President Kamaraj to reshuffle his cabinet and organizational responsibilities.

According to YSR Congress, the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister wants to reshuffle the government and organization in view of the 2024 Andhra Assembly and Lok Sabha polls. Therefore, all the ministers have resigned in the decision of the party. In fact, last December, the Chief Minister and the head of the YSR Congress, Jagan, took the initiative to reshuffle his team. But due to the Covid situation, it was temporarily postponed.

On Wednesday night, Jagan met Andhra Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan and told him that his entire cabinet would resign. According to Raj Bhavan sources, the Chief Minister will give the list of new ministers to the Governor on Friday or Saturday. The new ministers can be sworn in on Monday. According to a source in the ruling party, the representation of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and women will increase in the new cabinet.
