Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called for finding crime reduction strategies based on information from the National Crime Records Bureau. He also said that it was important for the states to send timely information to reach that goal.
Several opposition-ruled states, including West Bengal, failed many times to send information to the National Crime Records Bureau on time. As a result, it is difficult to understand the overall crime picture of the country, according to the Home Ministry officials. Stressing on the need to change this, Shah said, “Based on the information available with the National Crime Records Bureau, every state should make its own plan to reduce crime by the beginning of the year.”
The bureau’s databases will only come to fruition when they move forward to reduce crime in their respective states as a whole. ”
As the days go by, the criminals are becoming more and more vigilant. Sophisticated technology is being used in crime. Therefore, in order to curb crime, Shah has once again emphasized coordinating the ‘real-time basis’ between different intelligence agencies. Although there are multiple intelligence agencies in the country, there have been allegations for a long time that intelligence is not exchanged between them in real-time.
Today, Shah has again emphasized overcoming that shortcoming. “The Union Home Secretary should insist on increasing coordination in meetings with the heads of each intelligence agency,” he said.
