People blamed Yogi Adityanath that – at the outset of the polls, Yogi Adityanath played the card of polarization of Hindutva by commenting that the Uttar Pradesh elections were a battle of 80s versus 20%. But Yogi has proved that statement wrong. BJP candidates have been able to garner votes from a section of the minority community, especially women, from the trend of voter turnout, especially in Muslim-majority areas, after the results were announced yesterday.
According to the party, the party got the benefits of the project that it had undertaken to get free food grains on a monthly basis at the time of coronation and liberation from evil practices like “Tin-Talak”.
In the current elections, the BJP has not fielded a single Muslim candidate in Uttar Pradesh, the country’s largest state. However, the BJP ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) gave the ticket to Haider Ali Khan from Suar Kendra in the Rampur district. But many Muslim votes came into BJp’s side.
Analyzing the trend of getting votes, the party explained that the BJP has done quite well in some minority areas. Especially in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli centers, 41 percent of the voters are Muslims. Despite this, BJP candidates got more than 51 percent votes in the two constituencies.
