A person from Pakistan appealed to the Supreme court who wants Indian citizenship. The name of the man is Mr. Mohammad Kadar. He has the identity as a Pakistani citizen. But Mohammad Kadar does not want that identity at all. He wants Indian citizenship. He appealed to the Supreme Court yesterday.
Mohammad Qader’s life is just like a Hindi movie story. He was born in 1959 in Meerut (in India). He went to Pakistan with his mother when he was eight years old. Mother’s relatives lived there. Qadar’s mother died in Pakistan. His visa also expired. Kadar has to stay in Pakistan.
This is not a piece of normal news. As Indians, we should feel proud that neighboring countries are trying to get Indian citizenship. It clearly speaks about the development and growth of India over the last few years.
He moved to Meerut in the late eighties with that passport. Here he married an Indian woman named Shehnaz Begum. He became the father of five children.
He didn’t get a chance to study in Pakistan. So Kadar did not extend the visa to avoid the law. Everything was going well. In 2011, the matter suddenly reached the ears of the Foreign Ministry official. Mohammad Kadar was arrested. A Meerut court sentenced him to three-and-a-half years in jail. Later in 2015, he was sent to a detention center in Delhi. The government of Pakistan was also contacted.
However, the Pak government refused to accept Kadar as its own citizen.
