After winning, he announced that he wants to take an oath as the Chief Minister. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief minister Bhagwant Mann, who is set to form a new government in Punjab on Friday, said he would be sworn in next Wednesday.
The swearing-in ceremony will be held on March 16 at Khatkarkalan village in Nayanshahr district of Punjab. Khatkarkalan is the village of the revolutionary Bhagat Singh of Punjab. On Thursday, the future Punjab Chief Minister announced that he would take oath in this village instead of Raj Bhavan. Coincidentally, the day he took the oath was exactly one week before Bhagat’s death.
Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony have already started in Khatkar Kalan. On the other hand, the invitation episode has begun. The future chief minister of Punjab on Friday personally visited the New Delhi residence of his party’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal greeted Bhagwant by posting a video of the meeting on his Twitter account.
Former comedian and Lok Sabha MP Bhagwant was the front-runner for the Punjab Assembly elections. After the results were released, it was seen that they have won 92 out of 116 seats in Punjab.
