Within 24 hours of the collapse of the Congress in five states, the party became active against the Gandhi family. The party leaders, angry over Rahul Gandhi’s decision to keep Sonia Gandhi as the party’s president, will demand in the Congress Working Committee that the presidential election be held soon.

According to Congress sources, if Rahul does not become the president himself and wants to run the party from behind by putting one of his ‘hand puppets’ at the top, then he will be opposed. If necessary, it will be considered to field a candidate from the agitated group against Rahul’s ‘proxy’.

On Friday evening, Manish Tiwari and Kapil Sibal appeared at the house of Ghulam Nabi Azad, the head of the G-23 group of disgruntled Congress leaders. Sources claimed that Anand Sharma and Bhupendra Singh Hooda were also present at the meeting. The Congress leaders who wrote the letter to Sonia, demanding active leadership and organizational reform, are all leaders of that party.

Their main annoyance is that Rahul is leaving the post of president and running the party with some of his own people. Not everyone is involved in the decision. They are not sharing power in the party.
