After his first success in Delhi, maybe Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party would become the main opponent of the BJP in national politics instead of the Congress. Kejriwal himself ran against Narendra Modi in Varanasi in 2014. Aam Aadmi Party had fielded candidates in more than 100 seats across the country. And after the landslide victory in Punjab Trinamool’s Mamata Banerjee is fearing about their position. She fielded many candidates in many states in the last few years but as her dream of becoming a national team was shattered, Mamata finally turned her attention to AAP.
With the Aam Aadmi Party occupying Punjab after Delhi eight years later, the Opposition thinks that this time it will want to portray Arvind Kejriwal as the Prime Minister of the Opposition. Especially the Trinamool fears that Kejriwal may overtake Mamata Banerjee in this race.
On the other hand, apart from losing power in Punjab, the Congress has also lost battles with BJP in Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur. In the Lok Sabha elections, Congress fought directly with the BJP in about 200 seats. Like in 2014, Congress lost a maximum of those seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. And as per the recent result, everyone can figure out the condition of Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha election 2024.
