The Trinamool Congress has accused Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi of violating the Covid guidelines in the Goa election campaign. On Tuesday, Goa Trinamool vice-president Kishore Norvekar lodged a written complaint against Priyanka with the state’s chief electoral officer.
Trinamool alleges that many Congress leaders and activists who attended Priyanka’s rally on Monday took part in the campaign without masks. The letter said, “The meeting of the Congress General Secretary was quite crowded and the distance was not observed. The Trinamool has also demanded action against Priyanka for violating the election rules. It has even demanded the cancellation of the recognition of the Congress party as an all-India political party.
Incidentally, in the last two months, Priyanka has consistently targeted the TMC in Goa. He said at a meeting in Santa Cruz on Monday that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), a party like the Trinamool, could not give a permanent government to the people of Goa. Because they are outsiders in Goa. ”He also urged the people of Goa to look at what they have done in the states where those parties are in power before voting for outsiders.
Incidentally, the Congress party is contesting 36 seats in the 40-seat Goa Assembly this time. They have given up 3 seats to the allied Goa Forward Party. On the other hand, the Trinamool is contesting the elections in alliance with the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP). Voting in all the constituencies of Goa will be held in one phase on February 14.
