Abu Bakar, one of the main accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, was finally arrested after being on the ‘Most Wanted’ list in India for 29 years. Abu was recently arrested in a major operation in the United Arab Emirates, according to India Today.
According to Central Intelligence Agency, the process of bringing Abu back to India has already begun. They also said that he would have to face the Indian judiciary after coming to India.
Indian intelligence agencies have been searching for Abu for a long time for allegedly carrying out 12 blasts in Mumbai. Earlier, he was arrested once in 2019 in the United Arab Emirates. But then he got out of jail by showing fake documents.
Detectives claim that Abu, one of the masterminds of the Mumbai blasts, conspired with Dawood Ibrahim to carry out the blasts. He was also involved in bringing RDX and training weapons and explosives in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. A total of 256 people were killed and 613 injured in the blasts.
